Charles Lutz is a contemporary conceptual artist living and working in New York. He received his BFA from the Pratt Institute. His work deals with value structures and the idea of transference of values.

Lutz's work has been included in exhibitions at numerous institutions and galleries, including the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA
; the New Museum in New York; and the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, PA.

His exhibitions have been reviewed in articles in the New York Times, Art in America, ART FORUM, Modern Painters, and the Huffington Post, amidst others.

A former assistant to controversial art world icon Jeff Koons, Lutz first gained notoriety in 2007 when he submitted his reproductions of Warhol's work to the Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board for review. When Lutz's works were returned to him officially stamped "Denied," he promptly began exhibiting them. Inspired by a then-recent high-profile authentication denial of a work that had been previously deemed authentic, Lutz's "Denied" series draws attention to issues involving reproduction, authenticity and the market value associated with Warhol's work.
